Getting the Word Out: The Six Steps of College Access Marketing 

This webinar, led by Alice Anne Bailey, focused on how to use CollegeAccessMarketing.org’s step-by-step guide to plan and run an effective campaign—even on a small scale—from goal-setting and engaging key stakeholders to audience research and message development, drawing from social marketing principles and lessons learned from past college access campaigns across the country.

Using Technology to Engage Your Target Audience

Desiree Scales, CEO of Bella Web Design, led a face-to-face workshop on how to connect with your target audience and effectively engage them in two-way communication via Facebook and You Tube. The workshop focused on how to transform a static Web site from an online “brochure” to an interactive experience for the target audience through the use of online surveys, games, and video segments. Desiree also demonstrated how to ensure a campaign Website is easily located through search engine optimization.

Change for Good: Building a Social Marketing Strategy 

Led by Nedra Kline Weinrich, this 60-minute webinar covered the key elements of an effective social marketing strategy, including how to narrow down campaign goals and objectives, segment the target audience, and apply the “8 Ps” of social marketing strategy (product, price, place, promotion, publics, policy, partnership and purse strings).

Change for Good: Using Social Marketing to Make a Difference 

This 60-minute webinar, led by Nedra Kline Weinreich of Weinreich Communications, focused on how to apply social marketing concepts to college access campaigns, including how to move beyond the “informational” approach of communication to actually changing the behavior of the target audience. Topics included how to persuade the target audience to take action by appealing to their values and desires as well as the “Ten Commandments” of social marketing.

Andy Goodman of the Goodman Center led a four-week Webinar series on tapping the power of personal storytelling. Participants developed stories they could use in presentations, on their state Web sites, and in publications to change student attitudes and behavior about staying in school and preparing for college. 

Building Blocks of Social Media

In this webinar, Christopher S. Penn, Chief Media Officer of the Student Loan Network, shared the four key pre-requisites you MUST have in place before starting any kind of social media marketing campaign, from passion to design science to fundamentals of good web design, to make social media work for you and your college access marketing team.
